During her time at our Nations Capital, Wright learned all about the Boys & Girls Clubs policy positions on youth mentoring; workforce centers of excellence; 21st Century Community Learning Centers; Military-connected youth; Perkins Career & Tech Ed. Act; Child Nutrition Re-authorization; and Boys & Girls Clubs in Indian Country.
Her weekend wasn't all work and no play though. Wright also got to hear inspiring talks from the E.D. of Republican Study Committee; the Chief of Staff for Chief Deputy Whip Patrick McHenry; the E.D. of the Congressional Black Caucus; E.D. of Congressional Hispanic Caucus; Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy; Democratic Whip Steny Hoyer; and also Minority Leader of the US House of Rep. Nancy Pelosi.
Wright rounded out her weekend at the BGC reception that honored Senator Lisa Murkowski, Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, Rep. Bobby Scott and Rep. Martha Roby for outstanding service to our nation's children.
She also snuck in a quick meeting with staff from Congressman Polis, Senator Gardner and Senator Bennett's offices.
Wright brought back a wealth of knowledge, and we are proud to have her representing the Boys & Girls Clubs of Larimer County.
