Summer Volunteer Opportunities!

May 22nd, 2017 by Laura Smith

Summer is here! How did that happen so fast, weren't we just having a snow day?!

While summer seemed to sneak up on us, it's here. We know you probably have a lot planned this summer (beach vacations, traveling, climbing 14'ers or eating a lot of Popsicles...) if you find yourself with extra time, we have two great opportunities that will make you feel good!

Currently we are in need of Summer Volunteer Youth Activity Leaders at our Linton Elementary School Site staring on June 5 and ending July 27. Leaders are needed from 12 to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday with volunteers only having to commit to one day per week on a recurring basis. Volunteer Leaders will assist staff with daily food service, playground supervision, games, sports, and art programming.

If interested in this opportunity, please contact Megan at volunteer@bgclarimer.org

This summer we are also on the hunt for volunteer photographers and videographers. Budding or seasoned photographers can build up their portfolio by taking photos at Club Units, field trips and capturing the day-to-day awesomeness at all our Club Units.

If interested in helping out, please contact Megan at volunteer@bgclarimer.org or our Marketing Specialist, Laura, at lsmith@bgclarimer.org to find out more.

Enjoy the sunshine and we'll see  you soon!

State Ed Team Takes 1st Place!

May 11th, 2017 by Laura Smith

Girls in technology rock...and last Saturday girls from the Loveland-Pulliam Unit showcased that in a major way by bringing home 1st place in the "Challenge" Category (engineering and geography) at State Education Day.

Seven Club Members at the Loveland-Pulliam Unit competed on Saturday. After a scheduling conflict arose a few days prior, half the original team (who had been practicing for a month) had to back out, but new members eagerly stepped up. With little time to spare, the new team members practiced diligently and their efforts paid off!

The team walked away with a first place trophy in challenge (engineering and math) as well as a third place overall trophy.

Way to go ladies! We can't wait to see how you do next year!
